Company Three has developed a system of creating theatre that puts young people at the heart of the creative process.
We run a range of courses exploring the key ideas that underpin our work, including how young people and professional artists can collaborate on an equal basis.

Wrighting and Writing

This course is for people who have already attended C3's Making Theatre for Young People course and want to explore the process of structuring and writing plays made with young people in more detail. It is particularly aimed at artists with less experience of playwrighting, though playwrights working with young people are welcome too.
The two day course explores how we capture young people's voices, think about structure and write plays. It will include a quick refresher on the Source - Performance process and a chance to work with C3 members in the Den - our informal making space for our members.
Course Structure
Thursday - 10.30am - 8pm (including an evening session with Company Three members)
Friday- 10.30pm - 5pm

* We are able to offer a two-part payment plan if you need to pay in installments. We regret that we are not able to offer refunds if you cancel your place and we are unable to fill it with another paying participant.

"This has been the most informative and invigorating training I have ever participated in.
It was an absolute joy and I am so grateful to have been able to do it.
It has made me reassess how I facilitate workshops and how I am going to structure a devising process with young people.
I can't wait to get going. Thank you."
Elin Schofield
Sheffield People's Theatre
"As somebody with limited experience directing and working with young people it was the perfect toolkit to help me generate material with young practitioners and craft their material into meaningful performance...
I was able to apply these methods directly to the project that I was working on with a group of teenagers from mid-Wales and the consequence was the show being short-listed for best production for young people at the Wales Theatre Awards.
So many insights and discoveries from the course very much inform my process today more than 12 months later."
Paul Jenkins, Theatr Iolo
“I didn't expect the course to be as playful and loving as it was and I feel I have walked away with more wisdom and knowledge that I could have expected to - the course exceeded my expectations.“
